About Maharashtra SET
Maharashtra state eligibility test or MAHA SET or MH SET exam is held every year statewide. Savitribai Phule Pune University conducts Maharashtra SET Exam as an eligibility test. This eligibility test is conducted to certify qualified candidates which can be used to be recruited as assistant professors and lecturers in colleges and universities within Maharashtra and Goa. Those who qualify Maharashtra SET can also find work as research fellowships. The exam has two stages – Paper I and Paper II. Both papers are mandatory and their aggregate marks will be taken as the Maharashtra SET score of the candidate. General category candidates need a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate and candidates belonging to reserved categories will get a 5% relaxation in the aggregate marks i.e., they need a minimum of 35% marks in aggregate for both papers to qualify.
