How is RRB JE Result 2019 Prepared?
The result of RRB JE 2019 have following components:
- Raw Score.
- Normalizes Score
- Merit List
Raw Score of RRB JE: The raw score of the candidates are prepared on the basis of the marking scheme. Hence,
- 1 marks is added for each correct answer.
- 1/3 marks is deducted per wring answer.
- The total marks of correct answers is added.
- Total marks for incorrect answer is added.
- The total of incorrect marks is subtracted by total of correct answer and raw marks is calculated.
Formula to calculate RRB JE Raw Score is = 1 x each correct answer – 1/3 x each incorrect answer
Normalized Score of RRB JE 2019: Since JE is an online exam, which held in a window of multiple days, RRB uses normalization method to make the level of difficulty same in all the exams.
Under normalization, standard deviation is used to average down the raw marks of the candidates with that of top 0.1% candidates. The following formula is used to do so.
RRB JE Merit List 2019
The merit list of RRB JE is prepared on the basis of normalized marks and not the raw score. The merit is prepared RRB wise. The number of candidates selected for the merit is 15 times the number of vacancies. The following formula is used to calculate merit and prepare the RRB JE merit list.

RRB JE CBT 2 Result 2019
Candidates who qualify RRB JE are called for CBT 2. It is a 120 minutes examination, in which candidates have to solve 150 questions on general awareness, physics & chemistry, basics of computers and applications, basics of environment and pollution control, and technical abilities.
The score of RRB JE CBT 2 will also be announced as that for CBT 1. Even the pass percentage for the exam is also the same. Candidates who qualify CBT 2 are called for Document verification round.
RRB JE Document Verification Round 2019
The verification of the documents is done to ensure the eligible of the candidates. For this round, candidates equal to the number of category wise category are called. During the verification, candidates need following documents:
- Class 10 and 12 certificates.
- Class 12th certificates.
- Graduation Degree.
- SC / ST Caste Certificate (if applicable).
- Self-declaration for Ex-Service man.
- OBC NCL Certificate.

RRB JE 2019 Result Frequently Asked Questions
Ans : The candidates have to score a minimum marks to qualify the exam. The minimum marks are 40% for UR candidates, 30% for OBC and SC candidates and 25% for ST candidates. Also, there are cutoff marks to be eligible for the second round of the recruitment that is CBT 2 exam. The candidates can check the RRB wise cutoff marks available with the result PDF.
Ans : You can check your roll number in the result PDF of RRB JE 2019. The PDF of the result is released by each of the RRB over their official website. If your roll number appears in the PDF file that means you are selected for the CBT 2 of the RRB JE recruitment.
Ans : To check the scores the candidates have to login. To do so go to the respective RRB and check the RRB JE score link on their website. On clicking the link the candidates can check the login window. On the login window, the candidates have to enter their RRB JE 2019 Registration Number and date of birth.
Ans : For the Junior Engineer post, there are 12844 vacancies; for the Junior Engineer(IT), there are 29; for Depot Material Superintendent(DMS), there are 227 vacancies and for the Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant, there are 387 vacancies.
Ans : The candidates must note that since the exam held in multiple session the score of the candidates are normalised to get a percentile score. The raw marks are first calculated using the marking scheme of the exam. Then the scores are normalised to get the percentile score. Ans : Next, the candidates will be called for the CBT 2 exam. The admit card for which will be also released online under the candidate's login. The candidates have to download their admit card and appear for the CBT 2 exam.
Ans : The marking scheme used is 1 marks awarded for each correct answer and 1/3 marks deducted for each of the wrong answers.
Ans : In such a case, a tie-breaking is done. As per the tie-breaking rule first, the age of the candidates are compared. Older candidates are placed at a higher Rank in the Merit List. Secondly, if the tie is still there, then the alphabetical order (A to Z) of the names is considered.
