The Reserve Bank of India Exam had announced the recruitment notification for the post of RBI Assistant posts at its official website. The RBI Assistant Prelims Exam was scheduled for the 27th and 28th November this year.
About the RBI Assistant Exam
RBI ‘s recruitment of Assistant is one of the most anticipated break for every banking aspirant to working as the RBI assistant in various banks across India. RBI Assistant Exam Pattern has two phases for Online Examination: Prelims and Mains Exam followed by Language Proficiency Test. (LPT). RBI has decided to have Language Proficiency Test (LPT), as one of the selection process following which final selection shall be made.
The cut off of RBI Assistant 2017 Prelims Examination shall be released soon. The candidates who qualifies for the Prelims exam will be eligible to appear for the Mains. The final cut off is released post the Mains Exams. The level of prelims exams this year was reported relatively easy. We can assume this year’s cut off to be high in comparison to last year’s RBI Assistant Pre-cut off.

The preliminary exam for RBI Assistant was conducted online and had 100 questions which were to be answered in 60 minutes. The paper had three sections- Reasoning Ability (35 Ques), Numerical Ability (35 Ques), and English Language (30 Ques).
RBI Assistant Prelims Analysis 2017 – Changes Observed
There were no major pattern changes in the paper of RBI Assistant Prelims 2017. The overall level of the exam was Easy and most of the questions were easily achievable. Miscellaneous Arithmetic Questions of the Quantitative Aptitude section were slightly tricky. For the sake of convenience, we shall analyse each section independently.
RBI Assistant Prelims Analysis 2017 – English Language
The level of English Language was Easy-Moderate. The topic of reading comprehension was based on a story. There were 30 Questions asked in this section. Questions were based on Reading Comprehension, Spotting Errors and fill ups were asked.
RBI Assistant Prelims Analysis 2017 – Reasoning Ability
Similarly, the reasoning ability was simple as well and simple logic could help you through. 35 Questions were asked in this section. The overall level of this section was Moderate. Topics such as Puzzles and seating arrangements, syllogism, coding- decoding and alpha numeric and numeric series were covered.
RBI Assistant Prelims Analysis 2017 – Numerical Ability
The number of questions from arithmetic (word problems) was significantly high as 15 out of 35 questions were from the arithmetic portion. The overall level of this section was Moderate to Difficult. Problems on Number Series, Simplification/ Approximation Data Interpretation were asked.
The RBI Assistant Cut Off 2017 will be prepared by the conducting authority of Reserve Bank of India. The merit list will consist of only those candidates who meet the required cut-off as per the state and the Cut Off marks in section wise and centre wise based on their category.
