BPSSC has officially postponed the Combined Mains exam for recruitment of 2446 police personnel in 2020. This comes as a new addition to various other postponed examinations announced in the last two weeks. As the government copes up with the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak by imposing a nation-wide lockdown, the decision is completely justified in light of greater public interest.
Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) earlier advertised recruitment notice for Home Department (Police) and Home Department (Jail) on August 21, 2019. Accordingly, it conducted the preliminary exam and released the results on the official website. However, now the Commission has postponed the next stage of the exam i.e. the Combined Mains. Prelims qualifiers have no choice but to wait for the announcement of new rescheduled dates.
The Commission earlier scheduled the Combined Mains exam on April 26, 2020. However, now it has officially postponed the date through advertisement number 01/2019. Accordingly, it has published the official postponement notice on March 29, 2020 at bpssc.bih.nic.in.
BPSSC Combined Mains (Written) Examination
Similar to many other government recruitment examinations in the country, BPPSC has postponed the Combined Main (Written) exam until further orders. The examination is the second stage selection method for the recruitment of police personnel in the posts of Police Sub Inspector, Sergeant, Assistant Superintendent Jail (Direct Recruitment) and Assistant Superindentent Jail (Ex-Servicemen).
The preliminary stage exam for the recruitment is already over. The Commission published the results on the website to notify candidates as per norms. However, as qualifying candidates were waiting to appear in the Main stage exam, the postponement of the exam puts an undesirable pause on the recruitment process.
BPSSC Combined Mains Examination Postponed due to Covid-19
Bihar Police Subordinate Selection Commission (BPSSC) has released the official postponement notification at the website i.e. bpssc.bih.nic.in. Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be conducted in April 2020. There is no word on when the exam might be rescheduled. However, the new dates are expectedly releasing as soon as situations get normal.
BPSSC is conducting recruitment through a multi-stage selection process. The first stage i.e. the preliminary exam is already over. The exam was conducted on December 22, 2019. Qualifying candidates were notified through the prelims result that came out January 2020. Accordingly, these Combined Main (Written) exam was scheduled for qualifying candidates in April 2020. As and when the Main examination is conducted and the results are published, qualifiers will become eligible for the physical rounds and final appointment.
