This examination is commonly know as SSC CPO exam. You also need to qualify all the 3 stages of selection: Paper I, PET/PST and Paper II in order to get selected for above posts. SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria
Below you can find the detailed eligibility criteria for SSC CPO
Nationality: You should be a citizen of India or subject of Nepal or Bhutan to apply for the post.
Age Limit: Your age must be between 20-25 years as on August 01
Age limit relaxation is given in the table below:

Physical Eligibility: The Physical Standard Test (PST) will be conducted after SSC CPO Paper I has been conducted. In it, your height and chest will be measured. Thereafter, you will undergo Physical Endurance Test (PET) where male candidates will be tested for a race, long jump, high jump and shot put. Whereas female candidates will undergo the physical eligibility test for race, long jump and high jump.

Paper I
Paper-I will consist of 4 parts with 50 questions in each of it. The paper will be total of 200 marks and you have to attempt the questions with the time duration of 120 minutes. You must attempt only those questions of which you are sure. As for every wrong answer marked in SSC CPO Paper I deduction of 0.25 marks will be done. Below you can find the detailed exam pattern :

Paper II
After you have qualified Paper I and PST/PET, you will be issued admit card to appear for Paper-II which is also the 3rd and last stage. to prepare for this paper you must attempt previous year question papers. Moreover, you have to answer questions from English language and comprehension. The time provided to answer the questions in this paper is 120 minutes or 2 hours and the total number of questions are required to be attempted are 200. For every right answer, 1 mark will be awarded and wrong response will lead to deduction of 0.25 marks from the total marks obtained by you. SSC CPO Syllabus
SSC CPO 2018 Syllabus is vast and you need to prepare for it with focus and concentration.
Paper I
The syllabus of Paper I will be divided into 4 parts.
- The first part will be of General Intelligence and Reasoning and is going to contain the topic like analogies, judgment, observation, arithmetic, reasoning and much more. You have to prepare for all the topics to score well in the exam.
- The second part is going to consist of General Knowledge and General Awareness. In this section, your knowledge will be tested for history, economics, geography, research, constitution, etc.
- The third section is of Quantitative Aptitude. Here questions will be asked to check your appropriate usage of number and skills of solving mathematical equations. You have to practice this section with utter seriousness to score high and increase your chances of selection.
- Final and fourth part is going to be of English comprehension. Your skills in English language and writing ability will be checked. To attempt the question in this section of SSC CPO exam, you need to have basic knowledge of English and comprehension skills. You must also possess grammar knowledge to score high in this part of Paper I.

Paper II
After qualifying PST/ PET, you will be able to appear for Paper II of SSC CPO exam. The entire paper will be designed to check your understanding and knowledge of English language. The topics will be based on vocabulary, grammar, phrases, comprehension and much more.
SSC CPO Selection Process
To get selected for the post of SI / ASI it is compulsory for all the applicants to appear for Paper I, PST/PET and Paper II. Moreover, you need to qualify each and every stage with the minimum marks as decided by the commission. After you have cleared all the stages of SSC CPO and also declared fit after DME (medical examination) final selection will be done. The final selection process will be done on the basis of marks scored in Paper I and Paper II. The post will be assigned to the applicant of the basis of merit and the choice filled at the time of document verification.
