SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Recruitment 2017
This year, overall, 2,24,618 candidates appeared for the SSC Steno written exam 2017. Out of the appeared candidates, only 23473 qualified for the Skill Test. The number of qualified candidates for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ is 8469 and the same for the Stenographer Grade ‘D’ posts is 15004. Now after the Skill Test total, 2812 candidates selected, in which 601 qualified for Grade ‘C’ and 2211 for Grade ‘D’

It is a 200 marks paper of 2 hours duration. Questions are asked on General Intelligence and Reasoning (part I), General Awareness (part II), English language and comprehension (part III). The result will be announced, after examination, on ssc.nic.in.

SSC Stenographer Application Form 2017
Application form submission is online. It is important to read notification of SSC Stenographer 2017 before applying. It is also in best interests of the applicant to read instructions first. Here are some key details mentioned regarding online application form of SSC Stenographer 2017.
Preference for Posts – Use “C” for Stenographer Grade C and “D” for Stenographer Grade D. wisely select order of preference for the post. After the exam, you will be given recruitment to post on order of merit. If you do not exercise an option here, you will not be considered for that post.
Medium to appear in Skill Test for Stenography – English or Hindi. You can only opt for this once, during SSC Stenographer Application Form 2017, and have to appear for skill test in that language only after the result of the exam.
Educational qualification code – Choose code of that educational qualification, of which you have (will have) proof at time of skill test. You must have intermediate / higher secondary / 12th standard qualification as pre-requisite.

Application fee is Rs 100. This can be paid through SBI Challan / SBI Net Banking/credit card/debit card. Women candidates, candidates belonging to reserved category (scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, persons with disability, ex-servicemen) are exempted from fee payment.

Step 1 – Go to ssc.nic.in. Here you will see links/buttons on top, the third one of which is “Apply”.
Step 2 – Once you click on Apply, apply dialogue opens. Here, you see application form links for CGL, CHSL, Steno, JE, CAPF, GD Constable, JHT. Click the third link which is Steno C and D.
Step 3 – Screen shows “STENOGRAPHERS (GRADE ‘C’ & ‘D’) EXAMINATION, 2017. (Please clear browser cache and reload if you face any problem in viewing the page). Apply Link”.
SSC Stenographer Admit Card 2017
It is compulsory for candidates to bring admit card of SSC Stenographer 2017, that was officially issued to them, on day of exam. One original photo ID proof and 3 passport size photographs are also to be brought.
SSC NR, SR, KKR, WR, NER, CR, ER, MPR, NWR will separately issue Stenographer Recruitment Admit Card 2017 at regional office websites. Candidates must look for admit card release notice and download them online. It is also known as hall ticket. Hall ticket will not be sent by post.

SSC Stenographer Syllabus 2017
A syllabus is prescribed by Staff Selection Commission for SSC Stenographer 2017. It comprises of topics from where questions will be asked in the exam. Test takers can practice questions on these topics, from SSC Stenographer Syllabus 2017, to score well in the exam.
General Intelligence and Reasoning
Verbal and Non-Verbal – Abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation, analogies, analysis, arithmetical number series, arithmetical reasoning, decision making, discriminating observation, non-verbal series, problem-solving, relationship concepts, similarities and differences, space visualization, judgement, verbal and figure classification, visual memory.
General Awareness
Awareness of environment around and static GK – Culture, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, Geography, History, India and its Neighboring countries, Scientific Research, Sports.
English Language and Comprehension
Understanding of English language – antonyms and its correct usage, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, vocabulary.
Skill Test in Stenography
Candidates will sit for a skill test wherein they will be given a dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at 100 wpm (for Grade C) and 80 wpm (for Grade D). The dictated matter will have to be typed on the computer. Transcription time will follow.

SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Result 2017
After the Commission holds the examination, it initiates the process of evaluation. Papers are checked (in this case there are online / computer-based submitted papers). Answers marked by candidates are marked against official answer key prepared by SSC. Then, for the correct answer, candidates get marks as per marking scheme, and deduction is done wherever there is a wrong answer. On that basis, the result of SSC Stenographer 2017 is announced.
Skill test will be qualifying in nature.
Selected candidates will get allotment / provisional selection to User Departments as per merit and option exercised. Marks obtained in computer-based exam determines merit.
SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Cut Off 2017
Cut off marks are displayed at the time of declaration of result. Factors such as difficulty level of exam, the average performance of candidates in the exam, minimum expectation of Commission, contribute to the decision on cut off.
Those appearing for SSC Stenographer 2017 must aim to achieve as high marks as possible, and not just reach cut off. However, knowing past year cut offs helps get an idea of minimum marks that may be needed to clear recruitment.
