IBPS conducts Common Written Examination to recruit Clerk in multiple banks all over India. The recruitment process comprises two phases, Firstly the Preliminary examination, and Secondly Mains Examination. IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria of IBPS Clerk has to be followed by all the candidates. Ineligible candidates will not be granted admission.
Nationality: The candidates should be a citizen of Indian. However, the residents of following nations may also apply if they planned to settle in India permanently.
Age Limit: The age of the candidate should be between 20 to 28 years, as on September 01, 2018.
Educational Qualification: The candidates should possess a Graduation Degree from any recognized Institute.
- Computer Literacy – Candidate must have operating and working knowledge in computer systems. For this, Certificate / Diploma / Degree in computer operations / Language / should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School / College / Institute.
- Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT – Candidate must be able to read, write and speak the official language of state or UT. Apply for vacancies in that state of which you know the language.
IBPS Clerk Selection Procedure
Under IBPS Clerk the candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of competitive examination. The process of shortlisting the candidates is as below:
- First, the candidates will have to clear the Preliminary examination.
- Then, the qualifiers of the Prelims will be called for the Main exam.
- Those who will clear the Main exam will be called for the document verification and final recruitment.

The pattern of the Preliminary and Main examination is as mentioned below.
IBPS Clerk Preliminary Exam Pattern: The candidates will have to attempt 100 questions of 100 marks and the details of these are below:

Negative Marking in IBPS: The negative marking is applicable in both the examinations. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
