SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2017 – The Combined Graduate Level Entrance Test (CGL) is being conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit candidates in various Ministries/Department posts. The application process for CGL 2017 has started from 16 May 2017 and the last date to submit the form is 16 June 2017. The candidates will require to visit the official website at ssc.nic.in to fill the SSC CGL 2017 Application Form. However, before submitting the form, all interested candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria of SSC CGL 2017. The candidates who want to apply will be considered eligible after passing through 3 standards:- Nationality Basis, Age Basis and Educational Qualification Basis. Let us check them one by one.

Nationality/Citizenship Criteria

The candidate applying must be

(a) a citizen of India, or

(b) a subject of Nepal, or

(c) a subject of Bhutan, or

(d) a Tibetan refugee who settled in india permanently before Ist January, 1962

(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam

Candidates from (b), (c), (d) and (e) category shall be able to produce a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

Age Criteria for SSC CGL 2017

The age limit will be measured as on 01 August 2017. The age criteria depends on the post the candidate is applying for

(i) Posts with age limit 20-27 years Candidate must have been born between 02 August 1990 to 01 August 1997
(ii) Posts with age limit 18-27 years Candidate must have been born between 02 August 1990 to 01 August 1999
(iii) Posts with age limit 20-30 years Candidate must have been born between 02 August 1987 to 01 August 1997
(iv) For Post for which age limit is upto 30 years Candidate must have been born between 02 August 1987 to 01 August 1999
(v) For Post for which age limit is upto 32 years Candidate must have been born between 02 August 1985 to 01 August 1999

Date of Birth will be considered as per in Matriculation certificate / Secondary Examination Certificate

SSC CGL 2017 Educational Qualifications

The qualification must be as on 1st August, 2017

Post Educational Requirement  
Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer Essential Qualification:- An Undergraduate Degree from a recognized University or Institute
Desirable Qualifications:- Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Master’s in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.
Junior Statistical Officer: B An Undergraduate Degree in any subject with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level

OR

An Undergraduate Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the major subjects at degree level.

All other Posts An undergraduate degree from a recognised University or Institute

Note – Candidates enrolled in the final year of their graduation can also apply, however it is mandatory for them to possess Essential qualification on or before 1st August 2017.

SSC CGL 2017 Eligibility Criteria for Skill Test For the post of Tax Assistants (Central Excise & Income Tax)

The candidates appearing for the skill test for the post of Tax Assistants (Central Excise & Income Tax) in Tier IV will be required to go through Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) at 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depression per hour on Computer.

Document Verification/Physical Standard Requirement for the Post of Inspector

The candidates who clear the computer based examination i.e Tier I and Tier II and descriptive examination i.e Tier III and the Skill Test i.e Tier IV will be called for Document Verification and will be considered for final selection. The candidates will submit their  original documents and will also go through the physical standard test here

  • Chest 81 cms.

  • Walking-1600 metres in 15 minutes.
  • Cycling-8 Kms. In 30 minutes
Female Candidates
Physical Standards Relaxation Physical Test
  • Height 152 cms.
  • Weight 48 Kgs.
  • Height-by 2.5 cms.
  • Weight- by 2 Kgs. for Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Assamese and ST
  • Walking : 1 Km. in 20 min.
  • Cycling : 3 Kms. in 25 min.
Physical standards for the Post of Sub- Inspector in Central Bureau of Investigation
Height Chest Vision
(i) For men – 165 cms.

(ii) For women – 150 cms.

(iii) 5 cms. Of height relaxation is entitled for Hillsmen and Tribals

76 cms. (i) Eyesight (with or without glasses)

(ii) Distant vision : 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye.

(iii)Near vision 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in other eye.

Physical standards for the Post of Sub- Inspector in National Investigation Agency
Height Chest Vision
For men – 170 cms.

For women – 150 cms.

(iii) 5 cms. Of height relaxation is entitled for Hillsmen and Tribals

76 cms. (i) Eyesight (with or without glasses)

(ii) Distant vision : 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye.

The Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

Tier – I – Computer Based Examination

Tier – II – Computer Based Examination

Tier – III – Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)

Tier- IV – Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification
